Michael Spencer has been recommending The Theology Program over the past few months. It looks pretty good, and it’s not expensive. From what I see, you get exposed to multiple views/interpretations with discussion of their pros and cons, without putting too much emphasis on their preferences. (End times views are a great example of this. Being one who waffles between amill and historic premill, it doesn’t seem like dispensation premill is being forced uppon me.) If you’re looking to get some good theology training, and you’re willing to spend a little for classes, but don’t necessarily want to go to seminary or Bible college, give this a try.

This is also getting to be old news, but the people at bible.org have redone their web site, and it’s looking good. These are the people who brought us the NET Bible, which I’ve talked about before. Best - Notes - Ever. You should own one for that if nothing else.

This is getting to sound like a sales pitch, so I’ll stop. Just go check out the sites. They’re good resources.

  1. This isn’t ALPHA by another name is it?

  2. Jason says:

No, it’s a little more involved than Alpha. Where Alpha seeks to be a general introduction to Christianity with an evangelistic focus, TTP wants to be a seminary quality theology course for lay people. Both are good and useful in their own way.
